TeamViewer on my Windows 10 PC started shutting down after every 5 minutes. I tried to reinstall it, but the same thing happens. A friend said that resetting the ID will help restore TeamViewer. Is it so? How to change the identification number?

The program is automatically disabled if the user is suspected of commercially using a free version of TeamViewer. When you change the ID, the algorithms of the program take your computer for a new device, and the restrictions should be lifted.

Previously, you could change the identification number in the PC settings. Starting from TeamViewer 15 you can do it using the third-party application named TV Tools_AlterID:

Download the TV Tools_AlterID utility and save it in the folder with the installed TeamViewer program.
Close TeamViewer, click on the TV Tools_AlterID shortcut.In the window that opens, select “Trial”, click “Start”.
Wait for the installation to complete, click the “End” button.

Launch TeamViewer, in the “Allow Remote Control” section you will see your new ID.
