TeamViewer is the most popular remote access program. Its success is due to simple controls, low system requirements, great features and support for all major operating systems. MacOS is no exception either.
TeamViewer for Mac features
TeamViewer for Mac has a number of advantages over other similar programs:
- Access to remote computers does not require any special configuration.
- The ability to transfer files between computers is available.
- Since the program supports group conferences, you can provide access to the meeting at any time.
- The application is cross-platform. You can install TeamViewer on your Mac to get access to a remote Windows PC or an Android phone.
And the best part is that TeamViewer is free for personal or non-commercial use.
Let’s take a look at how what TeamViewer QuickSupport, TeamViewer QuickJoin and TeamViewer Host can be used for.

Ask a question
What is TeamViewer QuickSupport?
Like the Portable version, QuickSupport also does not require installation. The difference is that QS works only in one direction: you can receive remote support through it, but you cannot provide it. QuickSupport gives the support technician access and control over the device to quickly resolve technical issues.
What is TeamViewer QuickJoin?
TeamViewer QuickJoin is a module that does not require installation and runs from a separate .exe file. It allows you to join an online presentation or meeting. Note that you can’t start new meetings with QJ, for that you’ll need a regular TeamViewer.
What is TeamViewer Host?
This version is designed for 24/7 monitoring, maintenance and support of connected devices. It can be installed on an unlimited number of computers and mobile gadgets. It runs in the background as a system service, turning on even before a user logs in Windows. Also, like QuickSupport, it works in one direction.
What is better to download?
Depends on your purposes. For continuous use, especially on a large number of machines, TeamViewer Host is optimal. It is indispensable when working with stand-alone devices, which are not constantly sat by the operator, who can manually start the program. For occasional or non-commercial use, the regular TeamViewer is fine. To get technical support, a truncated version is enough - QuickSupport. And for participating in online meetings (conferences, presentations, etc) QuickJoin is suitable.

How to install the application
To install TeamViewer on your computer, you must:
- Double-click on the distribution to start the installation.
- Select the desired version of the program – for remote control of other devices or for remote work from the PC on which the software is being installed.
- Specify how the utility will be used – for personal or commercial purposes.
- If necessary, open additional options to change the installation folder.
- Start the installation process.
After a few moments, the operation will be completed.
The standard configuration of the program allows you to start managing computers and smartphones without additional adjustments. To connect to another device, just follow a few simple steps:
- Run the application on the primary and managed computers.
- Enter the Partner ID in the “Control Remote Computer” field.
- Click “Connect” and enter the password generated on the managed computer.
- Confirm access on the dependent device.
For detailed program settings, go to Extras – Options. In this section, you’ll find many options – from the application’s appearance to security and audio settings – that will make your interactions with the program easy, safe and comfortable.
TeamViewer is noticeably more expensive than some of its competitors (AeroAdmin, Show My PC, etc.), but has a free version, which eliminates this drawback.
The program supports most platforms, while many analogues (Zoho Assist, Techinline, Windows 365) are limited to only one.
All communications via TeamViewer are protected by end-to-end encryption, but there is no backup. The mobile version has biometric protection.
In terms of functionality, TeamViewer is a complex product and, in addition to remote access, offers a whole range of communication services (web conferencing, VoIP communication, call recording), which many analogues lack. Compared to other complex or highly specialized products, TeamViewer can lose in the details: there are no built-in notes and a drawing mode. But in big and important things - such as two-way screen sharing or support for multiple monitors – it always wins.
It is very clear that TeamViewer is a top product in its class, outperforming the competition in both the number of features and their quality.
