At work, I often connect to other PCs for remote control, but I haven’t figured out how to transfer files through TeamViewer. What do I need to do to copy a document from a remote computer to my device?
Through TeamViewer, you can transfer any files except system ones. You can send individual documents and entire folders. Data exchange is available when any connection mode is selected.

There are several ways to do it. First of all, you can send files in the File Transfer mode:

  • Log in to your TeamViewer account, and go to the “Remote Control” tab.
  • Enter the partner ID, select “File Transfer” instead of “Remote Control”, and click “Connect”.

Also, you can select File Transfer mode in the “Computers & Contacts” tab, or use the paperclip icon to attach the file:

If you are already connected to the remote device, you can use the toolbar above the active session window. Select “Files & Extras” – “Open file transfer”.

And last but not least, you can simply drag & drop files from your PC to the remote device, or vice versa, during an active remote control session.
